Blanke Aqua Shield is a waterproofing membrane that is installed in your shower area using a modified thinset.  The high tensile strength on the Aqua Shield ensures long lasting protection from moisture penetration. The Aqua Shield has an exceptional resistance to mold build-up.

Shower Waterproofing is a very important step to your shower installation.  Cement board is used as a substrate for the installation of Aqua Shield with a modified thinset mortar.  Tile is then installed directly over the Aqua Shield using the same modified thinset mortar.  One common misconception is that cement board is sufficient as a waterproofer for tile showers.  Cement board is water resistant, not waterproof.  You'll need to waterproof your walls before the installation of your tile.

This is Aqua Shield Tile Shower Waterproofing Membrane sold by the Square Foot.  Aqua Shield is 3.28' wide.  To figure out your square footage multiply the length by the width of the area you need to cover.  Aqua Shield can be installed using a 1/4" x 3/16" V-notched trowel.
